Developing Human Capital
Developing human capital is a key element for improving the performance of water and wastewater services. The training and transfer-of-expertise programs implemented help the water and wastewater services attain excellence. Every year worldwide, over one million hours of training are provided to Veolia Water employees.
The challenges related to training and to transferring expertise are numerous:
- To transfer high-level expertise to local authorities and share the experience acquired over time;
- To adapt the skills of our employees to activities and resources that are becoming increasingly complex to manage;
- To anticipate future needs by training employees to use new technologies;
- To promote quality career development within the services.
A specific tool to identify training needs
At Veolia Water Asia, we follow the Competency-Based Training (CBT) approach to identify the training needs of our employees. Training programs are developed regarding the competencies that are highlighted as requiring training.
