VEOLIA WATER's main contracts in China- some references

 

The Company's most significant municipal contracts involve full water services for large cities. Examples include the 50-year joint venture in Pudong, Shanghai, water production, distribution, as well as customer services and billing is managed. There is also the similar full services contracts in Shenzhen, the economic free trade zone on the border of Hong Kong where Veolia Water provides full water and wastewater services, as well as in Changzhou, a city adjacent to Shanghai, and in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province in western China, in Liuzhou, in the autonomous region of Guanxi, in Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu, in Haikou, the capital city of Hainan province, and in the municipality of Tianjin.

In all of these contracts Veolia Water is able to bring its expertise and experience in efficient management of water services. In Pudong, the Shanghai Pudong Veolia Water Centre was opened last year. The centre houses state-of-the-art technology to manage and control all the water facilities, including the network, for the whole of Pudong.

Veolia Water pays particular attention to water quality. The Shanghai Pudong Veolia Water Centre was established in January 2005 and is a modern centre of water management with three key functions: a Central Water Analysis Laboratory, a Water Movement Management Centre, and a Customer Service Call Centre. The Water Analysis Laboratory constantly monitors water quality and performs thousands of analyses per day [analyse 5000 samples per year, resulting in 55,000 results per year that relate to 105 parameters...], with the latest available equipment. The Water Movement Management Centre includes SCADA for supervision and control of facilities, displaying a background of satellite images, GIS and hydraulic models for precise mapping and simulation of the entire network. Finally, the Customer Call Centre offers 24 hour customer services through one single telephone hotline.
