First long-term outsourcing water contract to be awarded by Beijing to an international company

Signed in Beijing in September 2003, the 20-year Lugouqiao wastewater O&M wastewater contract will serve the south-west areas of Beijing. It is the first long-term outsourcing contract to be awarded by the city of Beijing to a foreign company in the water industry.

The Luguoqiao wastewater treatment plant is the first of a series of wastewater plants to be built as part of the city's preparations for the lead- up to the 2008 Olympic Games.
